After reading the reviews about this case, I was worried I may take it on to a plane and cause an evacuation due to the toxic odor. Fortunately, this didn't come to pass, as I just flew this week, and not even the person beside me complained about the smell.
That said, I've used Belkin products for years, and have found them durable, affordable, and functional. This case is no exception. I wanted something that didn't permanently attach to the Kindle, but would protect it from getting banged around during travel. This case fit the bill.
As for the smell, having worn neoprene wetsuits for years, I knew what to expect with neoprene. This case was no different. It smells like neoprene if you hold it up to your face and inhale. At a distance of more than six inches though, I certainly couldn't smell anything.
